How can I choose the source from which play Spotify music?

I'd like to listen to Spotify with the loudspeaker while I'm having a skype chat throughout the headphones. Is there any way to do so?

Judging from your username, are you using an Ubuntu OS?

There's a way for Windows (10) to do something like this. See this Youtube video.

It's on Realtek. I'm not sure if that would work with another soundcard, but it's worth a shot.

There is also a way to achieve this in Ubuntu using PulseAudio. See this question.

I use both Windows and Ubuntu. By now I tried to follow the tutorial but 1) I don't understand how I can de-couple the two sources 2) the system doesn't allow me to separate the speakers from the headphones, maybe because it's a laptop?

I also found this small program https://github.com/audiorouterdev/audio-router for Windows and works only if I decouple bluetooth from headphone

I can say it doesn't work for me, but I'm pretty sure it's because I'm using an external soundcard and I've disabled the onboard one...And I'm on Windows 7.

One of the users there is using a small program called Voicemeeter which looks pretty normal to me, so if the Microsoft guide fails, you can try this... 🙂
