My Question or Issue

When I go on the Spotify app, the lights of my keyboard turns off, they immediately turn back on when I switch to another app, it does that since I got my account on my family premium

2026 and I couldn't find a SINGLE post talking about this issue other than this one.

For anyone experiencing this issue, this person's solution does in fact solve the issue of Spotify lagging your peripherals, lagging your windows, and causing in-game performance issues, especially when tabbing BACK IN to Spotify from other apps. Before, tabbing into Spotify caused both of my Steelseries keyboards to flicker, and would cause my entire PC to lag for about a second or two. This was KILLER in video games, and caused certain games like DBD and CS2 to completely crash altogether.

However, after adding Spotify to MSI Centre's list of "Gaming" apps, it stopped lagging my PC and my keyboards, but it did introduce a new pain in the ass: when you tab back into Spotify, your fans will go CRAZY. Your CPU and GPU temp won't actually get higher or lower, but sweet jesus your fans will start screaming like damned souls in the seventh ring of **bleep**.

That being said, it does fix the aforementioned performance problems, and I'll take some noisy fans over a straight-up broken desktop app that drags EVERY program down with it **bleep**
