My Question or Issue

When searching local files, if there are no matching results, it shows the screen that says to go to settings to add source for local files (see attached image). If I backspace the search input, the local files don't show back up. Additionally, there are sources added for local files, and they work correctly up until using the search functionality. The only way to get the local files to show back up is to restart the spotify desktop app. If there is a matching search result, everything works fine, but there's some kind of bug when there are no matching search results that causes local files to no longer display.

Commenting here to say this same bug is happening with me as well. If I search local files for a string with no matching song name, Spotify shows the 'no sources' screen and I have to reboot Spotify to view local songs again.

Interestingly, if I type in something without a matching song name, and then drop a song into my directory with a name that does match, the no source screen disappears and I can access things again. I'm unsure if this is useful information.

Please fix it on Mac

Hey @user-removed,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried?

If you haven't tried performing a clean reinstall of the app on your PC, please make sure to do so by following these steps to  get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

Afterwards, make sure to turn Show Local Files on in the app settings once again and choose the option Add a source. Then, choose your music folder.

Keep us posted.
