Lyrics and smart shuffle are not working

Lyrics and smart shuffle are not working

I have spotify on a pc running windows 11. A few months back all lyrics stopped being available on the desktop client (button is greyed out for all songs, even ones that I know have lyrics) and recently smart shuffle has stopped adding recommendations to my queue even when turned on. I am on a family premium subscription in New Zealand. I think this is a local issue to my PC as I don't have this issue on my android or linux devices. I have tried returning settings to default, resetting cache, restarting my pc, and I even did a fresh install of the spotify client multiple times so I don;t know what else I can do to fix this. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the Spotify Community!

Could you try logging in with another Spotify account in the same device and see if you can replicate this behavior, just to rule out that this is not an account related?

I understand you’ve already done a fresh install of the app, but I’d recommend trying a clean reinstall instead. It’s more thorough than a regular one and can help clear out anything that might be causing issues on your device.

After the clean reinstall, can you try playing this track and let me know if you see the same behavior?

Regarding the Smart Shuffle feature not adding songs, can you also send us a screen recording so we can take a closer look at what's happening exactly on your end?

Sorry I've been away for a bit and haven't been able to reply.

I've done a clean reinstall now and the issues still persist (also got hit with that rick roll).

As for the smart shuffle, see the attached video:

Could you confirm if you've installed the version from the official website? I'd recommend installing the version available in the Microsoft Store (or vice versa) to see if you experience the same behavior. 

 

Also, can you check if the Web Player shows the same behavior or if it's working as should?

 

Lastly, if you have one, I'd suggest turning off any VPN while using the app, as it could affect its proper behavior.
