Memory leak in Windows 10 client when using Local Files

Memory leak in Windows 10 client when using Local Files

I have a library of 10,000+ MP3s, and Spotify fails to index it. When I add the folder with my music, Spotify slowly starts using more and more memory and slows to a crawl, making it completely unusable until I kill the process in Task Manager. Once I do that, I can restart the client and the folder is gone from my Preferences page.

Hey @ebol, welcome to the community!

Could you send us your Spotify version numbers? Also, have you tried reinstalling it before adding your local files?

In case the reinstallation doesn't help, try turning off Hardware Acceleration under View, to see if it fixes the issue.

You can also try dividing your local files into a few folders and sync them one at a time to see if it makes the process any easier.

All the best.
