My Question or Issue
I can't play music on my Desktop Spotify app (version 1.1.5.152.gf0f488f1). Music starts playing and then stops after 5/6 seconds. Message of "Can't play the current song" appears all the time. I've tried to delete the app and reinstall it; also I disabled the hardware acceleration option, but still doesn't work. Can anybody help me, please?

HELP PLEASE! Has anyone fixed this problem on a Macbook?

Thanks for reaching out about this and welcome to the Community.
You can find the steps on how to clean up your hosts file on your Mac here.
If this doesn't do the trick, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one.
Let us know how it goes.
This worked for me, thanks! even 3 and a half years later
