will any of the muted tabs (whether it be google chrome, microsoft edge, etc) be counted towards streams? or will it not? for laptop
Hello! will streams from Google Chrome guest be counted towards spotify streams if its logged in with a different accounts from others? or will it be filtered out?
Thank you!
Device im using: Lenovo Laptop, Windows 10/11
Focus: Google Chrome
Hi there @supertuna,
Welcome to the Spotify Community!
You need to have listened to around 40-60 seconds of the song in order for it to count as one stream, that's the only factor that comes at play. This means that if the Spotify tab in your browser is muted, or you're using a guest profile, playing a song for at least 40 seconds will still count as a stream.
Hope this clears things up. The Community is always here if there's anything else we can assist with.
Cheers 🤘
I see thank you so much for your insight! But will it lead to high filtration rate? or count as bot?

My Question or Issue
May I know how offline music is counted? like will all of it count towards the day i unoffline it? or when I finally unoffline it the days i streamed for (example Day1 Day2 Day3) numbers will be added in to the respective? And how will this affect tracking if i come online after the first week of tracking will it still be counted? but how is it recorded like for each day or the last day i unoffline it?
Hey @supertuna,
Thanks for the question.
In this particular case we cannot share the exact info as it may lead to manipulation of data. We encourage you to support your favorite artists by listening to their tunes in full. The listening data's used to improve everyone's recommendations!
Hope this helped out,
Cheers.
oh i see thank you for your insightful reply, just to double confirm does this mean it works similar to private session? will prolonged usage of private session lead to abnormal detections or it's just similar to any normal sessions?
