My Play Queue keeps playing instead of my playlists/radio

My Play Queue keeps playing instead of my playlists/radio

I'm trying to listen to my Playlists, and it will only play 1 song from my Playlist, and then it starts playing my Play Queue.  I don't want to listen to my Play Queue right now, that's where random songs sit until I decide to listen to them.

I just want to listen to my freaking playlists.  Having the same issue with Radio.  It plays 1 song, then starts playing my Play Queue.

The fact there is no Technical Support, especially for premium members, is a serious problem for me.  I am not impressed with Spotify today.  You're going to have to do something Drastic if you ever want to pull me away from Pandora.

Hey 🙂

Can you try the steps in this post to clear your play queue?

Also, there is technical support if you get in touch using the online contact form 😉

I don't want to clear my play queue.  I want to keep my play queue for later.  If i have to delete my play queue every time I want to listen to another station then that greatly reduces the usefullness of spotify.  My play queue is where I put songs to listen to later that I want to listen to to see if they could go in one of my playlists or not.  If I have to keep deleteing that, then what's the point of having aplay queue?

I think the issue here is you are trying to use the play queue for something it was not designed to do.

The play queue is designed for when you are already listening to a playlist, and say want to queue up a few tracks to play next and then return to that playlist once they are done. So whenever you queue anything, it will take priority over whatever was selected to play as the source of music, eg a playlist or the radio.

If you are looking for somewhere to store tracks to listen to later, I would suggest just making a "Listen to Later" playlist, thats what I do!

I agree that the queue is a mixed blessing. I have exactly the same

problem and I don't see why I should have to save my queued items to a playlist each time I decide I want to listen to something else.

when you create a queue on Spotify it become the go to default playlist. If you try to play another playlist it will go back to the

queue after one song. Get rid of your queue by clicking the menu symbol under the album art > queue > remove queue.

I'm having the self-same problem as others in this thread. I also appreciate that it would be just as easy to put the songs in a playlist and play from there as and when required. However it should also be possible to put the queue on hold as sometimes you are half way through a queue when a new album comes out and you want to listen to that instead. Yes I know you could still transfer all the remaining queued songs to a playlist but it shouldn't be necessary to do that. How about a simple toggle switch to turn the queue on or off temporarily. Sounds like something that could be easily implemented.

Agree with all this. It's truly a **bleep**ty setup that Spotify decided upon. I also like to jump between music styles and types, and I just want to have several queues/playlists (should be the same **bleep** thing) on the go at once. I just want tabs for it, like Foobar. Why is that so hard? Idiotic.

this may work: have you try shift left-clicking your playlist bottom to top and then right-clicking and choosing "play."
