the spotify application has stopped working

Ive had spotify premimum version for atleast 6 months and it has suddonly stops working. when i try to open the aplication it says "the spotify application has stopped working" and when i go to task mananger and then try its just a white screen for several hours. what do i try now?

First, what version of windows are you running (Windows 7, Windows 8.1 etc.) Also, when you go to Task Manager, try right clicking on Spotify and click on end process tree.
