My media buttons on my Logitech G910 keyboard don't work how they used to!

Solved!

My media buttons on my Logitech G910 keyboard don't work how they used to!

So i have put this off for a while. But go back 3 months or so, even when playing a game i was able to used my media buttons on my keyboard to control spotify if it was open. And it was really well done; like when i used the volume roller it would show up on my screen as a visual volume slider to show how high the volume was. And when i pressed the play, pause or skip button, the song would show up in a box on the screen. Now? Nothing. If i don't have the spotify window as my main window i cant control anything; and obviously no more visual cues.

Now i have done a bit research but everything i have found online has not worked. I don't use chrome; its not open and i dont have google music installed anyway. i have tried to stop the windows media player networking sharing service. Nothing. And i have made the human interface device service automatic and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use spotify to listen to all my music.

Same thing happened with my Razer stuff. Hope they issue a fix soon.

It was obviously to do with windows, as with the new update the problem was fixed and reverted to how it was when all these things were working. Windows must have released it and then decided to put it in this latest update, at which time they disabled it. Anyway glad i can now finally control my music outside of the spotify window.

Do you use Chrome?  Do you have the Google Play Music or Plex extensions?  They may be stealing those keys.

Go in the extension settings of Chrome, scroll to the bottom and click on Keyboard Shortcuts.  See which extension has the media keys configured.  Unconfigure them and restart Chrome.

You're a literal god. I totally forgot I was using GPM for a while, this fixed it!
