One of my favorite songs became messed up? Not sure if corrupt or what has happened,

Hi!

Since quite a while back now one of my favorite songs, Ready, Steady, Go by Paul Oakenfold has somehow been messed up in spotify,

It used to be correct but now it has turned into something strange instead

Paul Oakenfold – Ready, Steady, Go

This is the actual song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSv3Oez4O-4

Is this the correct place for posting such a thing? Is anyone else having this problem with this song for example? At least i have the same issue on my phone...

I looked at the Spotify database and it looks like he only has the remix album available on Spotify right now.

The reason is that the artist or their music label has likely decided to remove it from Spotify.

The availability of songs on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.
Spotify has no control over what content is available.

Sometimes the album or song will be unavailable temporary, and come back again later.

Hi Matt,

The song is there, and it's available for me, it's just not the correct song anymore. It has been literally replaced with something else weird, but its still goes under the same name and artist, and song ID since it's in my playlist. Does it not depend on the region where the song is available? Are you not able to play the link i sent you? I actually found the song just by searching again, and its still wrong. All the remixes are based on the correct song though.

Based on the Spotify metadata lookup tool which shows every album by the artist and which countries they are available in:

http://ws.spotify.com/lookup/1/?uri=spotify:artist:5MO2kbaGGA2a8kL4c9qqHq&extras=albumdetail

Only the remix album is available on Spotify. I couldn't find another album or release with the same song on it that wasn't a remix.

I found this:

http://ws.spotify.com/lookup/1/?uri=spotify:track:4sDB1oWmlYJZL6P12QMPbW

but under

"<availability>

<territories/>
</availability>"

there is no listed countries

That's what led me to the conclusion that the song was removed. When a song is removed, the song might still be in your playlist, but it will either be greyed out, or linked to another version of the song if it finds one of a similar title that best matched it. It is likely that it was removed and that the song was matched up to a bad match.

Maybe I mislooked the metadata page? Take a look

I have the same issue.

The weird thing is, on my PC the track is the before mentioned weird remix. On my phone I can press the button 'play on this iphone', and it will continue with the correct song.

I also tried downloading the song and adding it, it won't change anything. Super weird...
