My Question or Issue

Since the latest update, they have revised the way the left sidebar works, and now it wastes a lot of real estate, and either the playlist panel is too short vertically, it is too small (horizontally) or the album art is too small (both ways).

This is a problem because over the 4 or 5 years I've used Spotify, I've obsessively created playlists for a bunch of genres and occasions, and not being able to find them because of space issues is annoying as **bleep**, not to mention silly considering I've got a 3 monitor array for work. I also like to look at album art because it gives you a quick reference of what/when/who about the music you're listening to.

The solution would be very simple if they used a more Winamp-like way to move panels, but alas. So the solution goes: let me decide on the height of the album art, and the width of the sidebar. So simple! Please update this so that we can continue to happily give you our friggin money for a good service.

Hey @ral3nti,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply, we've just come across this thread.

We appreciate the time you've taken sharing this information. As this is a request for a change within the app, it fits more in the Ideas board.

Before you create an idea, we'd recommend searching for a similar idea already posted. In case you couldn't find a similar idea, You can create a new idea following this process:

  1. Go to the Spotify Community
  2. Click on Menu
  3. Click on Ideas > Idea submissions
  4. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on “Let’s go”

Keep in mind the Idea Exchange guidelines when submitting your Idea to make sure we can make the most of it.

It's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.

Honestly, I would. But it seems like Spotify does the best Chief Wiggum's Invisible Typewriter impression when it comes to user feedback.

Thanks anyway.
