So i was listening to some podcasts on my phone, but when I'm at home I use Spotify on my computer. I can't seem to find the podcasts that I follow on my computer though. The only way I could do so is starting it on my phone and then connecting it to my computer which i find a little annoying. Is there a reason why they aren't on the desktop version?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Would like to add in another voice of complaint at this missing feature.
Would much appreciate some input from Spotify on why they have not or will not implement it. I doubt it's related to technical problems..
Adding to the chorus of 'SERIOUSLY?' about a lack of podcasts on the desktop app. This is nonsensical, and degrades my enjoyment of a platform I otherwise really appreciate.
About the solution, does it work for the apple version of the app as well?
It's annoying that I have to go through my phone to listen to my podcasts. I should be able to have access to them from my computer without having to go through my phone.
I am making an account on this forum just to add my voice to this chorus. Also, I am opening itunes right now to listen to a podcast. I do not want to this, but you are forcing me to.
I can't believe that this is an issue. I really thought that I must be doing something wrong...then I found this thread. I had previously sung Spotify's praises, but that won't continue until this is fixed.
+1
Please add this feature to the desktop client. "Listen Everywhere"...yeah right.
+1 for podcasts. Don't get why such a basic requirement is missing. Podcasts are the real world community radio of the 21st century.
Please add my 2 cents for this as well. I was looking for the “Mogul: The Life & Death of Chris Lighty” podcast but see that I can't listen to it on my desktop. I would also like to get on board with Spotify as my only site for tunes and more so what's the ETA for this?
Adding my voice here too. Please listen to your subscribers guys and add this feature.
The phone workaround works but it suck that is necessary to do that.
Please fix
I have also been very frustrated with the lack of podcasts on my desktop. This is a big issue for me. I spend hours every day at my desk and want the option to listen to my podcasts while I work.
I use spotify everyday and I might use it more if they fixed this problem. As of now the only way to listen to podcasts on desktop is to play them on your phone then to select the play on computer/webplayer button located under the play pause button.
probably goes in another direction where Spotify wants to go?
Or maybe just they are developing it, cool stuff to make (i am a dev).
All these answers are seem like pretty good feedback. Please do it. 🙂
Hi guys, looks to me like they fixed it! I just search for the 'Savage Lovecast' podcast on the desktop-version of Spotify. And got a result and can actually play it from the desktop. Why they call it a show, I really don't know. Should be called Podcast, like on mobile.
Podcast found on desktop
Nice.. works for me too.. searched for a UK podcast (No Such Thing as a Fish) and it came up as a show..
Agree completely... I hope that Spotify can incorporate Podcasts into the desktop version. It's Only thing holding the platform back from being the "perfect" app for my work and personal lifestyle....
Tried searching for 'Stuff You Should Know' to try it out and it came out as a top result. However when I visited the page, there's no button for 'follow,' 'subscribe' or even 'save,' just 'play.' Seems if I want to listen to a podcast on my desktop I will have first search for it first, at least for now. Is this the same case with the rest of you as well?
