Remove spotify from system tray windows

My Question or Issue

 How can we disable spotify from running in the bottom right hand corner, the notification area (system tray) in windows. If the software is running it cannot be removed.

Still not implemented....

If someone smarter than myself knows how to make a Spicetify extension / snippet / app that could remove that annoying**bleep** from systray I'd be eternally grateful.

When I play music on other devices (like smart phone) spotify shows a small icon in the taskbar (on every monitor if you have more than one). Clicking on the icon makes the music play on the windows system.

How Do  I disable this feature. It is annyoing and takes up space that I need for other applications.

You can try going to Windows Settings ➜ Apps and then scroll down and find "Resume" to see if there is a setting to turn off the Resume feature for Spotify. This should let you turn the Resume feature on/off and also disable certain apps from using Resume.

It looks like there also should be some settings to turn off the Resume feature, turn off just the taskbar button, or turn off Resume for just certain mobile devices. I am mainly a Mac user so not entirely sure, it would be best to do some research to see what settings are available. It looks like there are several areas to check in settings for this feature.

your the man, that did the trick. As soon as I turned of the resume feature specifically for spotify, the taskbar item vanished.
