My Question or Issue

for the last day or so, when I put a song on repeat one, after the song repeats maybe four or five times, the playlist automatically moves on to the next song, even though I didn't want it to or turn off "repeat one". like i said, this didn't happen a couple of days ago. am I missing something or is this an error on Spotify's part?

My Question or Issue

When enabling the Repeat option, I have the option to Repeat the Song itself, or Repeat All which automatically restarts the playlist once all songs are played. After about 8 repeats of the song, it changes from Repeat Song to Repeat All, which stops the song from repeating. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app did not work.

So like

This didn't get fixed?

I have had this experience for a couple of months and now when I grew tired of this trouble I started to search for some solutions, found this forum and it's frustrating that such a serious issue has not been fixed for almost half a year! Guess I'll just have to switch to YT Music for now

This happens to me as well on the Desktop app (Google chrome version 120.0.6099.199 for 64 bit)

Since a few days ago Spotify has started repeatedly turning on auto repeat all. I turn it off, it turns itself on. Again and again. This happens on my Desktop and my phone at the same so obviously re-install is not the fix. It must be either a bug or done intentionally.

When an album is complete, I always want it to go to radio/autoplay. Always. And no matter how many times I change the setting, day after day, an album finishes, starts over, and I lose my mind because the setting somehow has switched back to REPEAT on it's own, without my changing it.

This is driving me crazy. Why does it keep changing back, and shouldn't there be a default setting I can choose? A universal toggle that sets autoplay as the default action, and it doesn't change unless I change it?

Or if the autoplay feature isn't supposed to change, then this is a major issue that needs fixed, settings should just stay where I last set them and not keep switching back to REPEAT.

Please look into this super frustrating problem, thank you!!!

My Question or Issue

Every time you play a different playlist or song, the repeat button shuts itself off. It has become an issue like 2 days ago. Does anybody have the same problem?

My Question or Issue

Hey folks,

I noticed an issue couple of days ago that the Repeat All button turns itself off right after I press play button or tap a song whether it be my Mac mini, iPhone 15 Pro, web player. I like my Repeat All button to be always on and this issue is driving me crazy.

I managed to replicate the issue on several other devices (info above) that are all on the latest operating systems and also, Spotify app is on the latest version on every device. Also, issue was tested even on Spotify web and it's the same.

Here is the video of the issue https://drive.google.com/file/d/1u_EVKYXId1UjtzgcH6OmhPh2EzpdyESd/view?usp=sharing

I reached out to Spotify Support via X/Twitter and they suggested that I log off/log in (didn't work), next they suggested me to delete and clean install the app on both Mac mini and iPhone by following your official community instructions here and it also didn't work.

Then, the support gave me credentials for their test account, I logged in to that account and the issue wasn't there! With Spotify test account! What is the problem??

Next, they suggested me to open another account so they can migrate all my data from my current existing account but I'm afraid I will lose all the data even though they told me that I won't.

Did anyone encounter this issue in the past couple of days? I'm a premium user for years now and this is the first time something like this happened.

Please if someone can help.

Hey @Daaachooo,

Thanks for posting on the Community!

Could you check if clearing the stored app cache would make any difference? Just make sure to switch the Repeat function on first. Once this is done, try logging out and then back in twice in a row to re-sync your account data.

Should the Repeat function still keep switching itself off, we'd like to ask you to send us a video recording of how things look on your end. If the (.mp4) file is too large to attach here on the Community, you can upload it to Google Drive or something similar and send us a link to it. Just make sure the access is set to public.

Much appreciated! We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂

Hey!

Thank you so much for replying!

My mistake is that I forgot I had reached out here and forgot to update the article.

After the app updated in meanwhile, the “issue” was resolved.

Thank you once again, and have a great day.

Hi, all of my devices (Windows 10, iOS 17) have had this issue and the cache clearing and signing in/out did not work. I tried deleting the app as well, but that did not fix the issue. The shuffle stays on if I turned it on for a specific playlist, but the repeat function always turns off if I return to a playlist that is supposed to have it on. This only started recently (a few days ago). I've updated since then but that didn't fix the issue. Does anyone have ideas? Thanks!

It works fine for mobile but when i try doing it on pc it doesnt work. i think the problem is at the web and could be a sort of sync thing, as soon as i log in to the app on my pc via the web because there is no other way it fails and goes back to doing the same thing and keeps shutting off the repeat button.

Hey @Gl1tchNs

Thanks for reaching out about this and welcome to the Community!

Could you check if app or the OS of your device has any pending updates?

If there isn't any, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If the issue persists, could you send us a screen recording of the issue happening as @Vasil requested above? We'll take a closer look.

We'll be on the lookout.

Reaching out again 🥲

It started happening again on my phone, whenever I play a different track/playlist/album - repeat button toggles off and it’s kinda tricky because most of the time I forget to turn it back on because I’m used to it not turning off.

I have tried all the solutions above, clearing cache, relogging, updating, and reinstalling.

None actually work, unfortunately.

I have already reinstalled Spotify multiple times and deleted all connected files. I don't actually think it's my phone's or pc's problem because it's the same when I use Spotify on Google. @Daaachooo sent a video of how it looks and that's exactly how it is on my phone, on my pc app and on Google

I have same problem on Android14 and Windows11. These OS and apps are completely updated.
When I try to play song in other list or album, "repeat" fuction is forced to disable. Like @Daaachooo's video.
I guess many people are unaware of this problem, but many people are facing this problem.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the replies.

We heard from our teams backstage and this issue should be fixed for XBOX users. Would anyone mind confirming if this is the case?

If this issue is still affecting you, please make sure to send your exact OS version and the exact Spotify version you're currently running. This info is important for our internal teams to continue their investigation.

We'll be on the lookout.
