Search shortcut (ctrl + L) not working on search page

My Question or Issue

If I go to the search page (either by clicking "Search"  in the side menu or by keyboard shortcut and then lose focus on the input field (clicking away but staying on the same page or just pausing/changing volume etc.) subsequent use of said shortcut (CTRL + L) does not result in focusing the search field. To do so I have to go to another page (by using mouse or shortcut like ctrl+p to go to settings).


I believe it would be much better, accessibility and UX wise, if CTRL+L behaved the same on every page in the app. It might not be needed by many, but people who (mostly) rely on using their keyboard to navigate the desktop app would surely appreciate if the search shortcut behaviour would be a bit more cohesive.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 


First up, we'd recommend that you try logging out and then logging back in twice on your PC. We know this sounds odd, but it's how the app forces a cache refresh.


If the issue persists after that, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one. Make sure to download the app again from the Microsoft Store


Lastly, we suggest that you check if the OS of your PC has any pending updates.
