I am trying to play a song that I recently got into on youtube, but when I found it, it was grayed out and Spotify said that it can't play the song right now and if I had the song file, I could upload it, which I don't. What should I do? I tried restarting the application, but the problem still continued.

Hi @zachariapopcorn,

thanks for your question !

As Spotify is the receiving end of content, the legal rights of content uploaded is within the artists / record labels or share holders.

Therefore, content availability can vary between countries and as it can be removed by the artist it can also come back.

I can also recommend you add your +VOTE to this idea suggesting notifications on removed content.

I strongly recommend you subscribe to it as well to get any updates in real time.

Hope this shed some light 🙂

Hi there @zachariapopcorn,

thanks for reaching out !

Greyed out songs mean they're currently unavailable in your country.

You can read all about missing content on this official answer.

Let me know if you have more questions 🙂

So, what that means is that the song isn't available in my country, but it would be soon, like a cycle?
