Songs not playing after I downladed latest Spotify version

Solved!

Songs not playing after I downladed latest Spotify version

HELP! Spotify desktop on my laptop using windows seems to not work properly after I downloaded the latest version. I'm a Premium member paying £9.99 a month for a product that now doesn't work.

I've re-installed Spotify etc and it still doesn't work where as before, I've never had a problem at all before. Any help to remedy the situation swiftly would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @GWILROBERTS,

Have you checked to make sure that after deleting the client, that there are no files left in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Spotify before installing it again?

Also, a few other community members had the same problem and executing the following steps helped them resolving their issue.

  • Shutdown your PC and then restart it in Safe Mode (hit the F8 key repeatedly during the boot up process then select Safe Mode from the menu that appears)
  • Once launched in Safe Mode, go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features
  • Find Spotify and uninstall it
  • Shutdown your PC and boot it back up as usual
  • Go to the Spotify website, download the installer and reinstall.
