Hey,
Since I got the new design on Spotify, which by the way I don't like at all, songs are played in the wrong order.
For example, I'm playing song number 8 and as soon as the song ends, song 7 plays instead of song 9?! Should I listen to my playlist now from bottom to top instead of top to bottom?
The problem only seems to exist when I sort the playlist so that the most recently added songs are at the top. This is the best way, because normally I guess everyone wants to have their newest songs at the top and not always have to scroll down to the bottom to the new songs, right?
Strangely enough, the problem only occurs with one of my two playlists and with both playlists I have the songs sorted by added and the newest songs on top.
Is there any solution?
Thanks!

Hey @Creatiive,
Thanks for getting back to us with the video.
Could you let us know if this behavior continues when you copy the contents of that playlist over to a new one? We'd also appreciate it if you do share the approximate number of songs there. Since this issue seems to affect only that specific playlist, the more info we gather about it, the quicker we'll be able to find a solution.
Keep us posted. We're looking forward to your reply.
Hey there @Creatiive,
Thanks for getting in touch about this.
Would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account in your PC to check if this happens with a different account as well?
On another note, could you send us some screenshots of how you're seeing your playlists on your end? Make sure not to send any private info.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Hey @Eni
I don't think it's an account problem or computer problem. I have two playlists and both playlists sorted so that the most recently added songs are at the top. So the way of sorting is the same in both playlists. Or should it be checked if the playlist is also played the wrong way round with another account? I could make the playlist public for a moment and send it to you.
Nevertheless, there is this strange problem that in one playlist the song above the currently playing song is played instead of the one below it as it would be more usual.
I've added screenshots of both playlists, but I don't think there's anything special to see there either.
In the playlists, where the problem exists, there are two differences from the other: The playlist contains significantly more songs and it is a private playlist, not a public one. But I would be surprised if that is the problem. It wasn't a problem with the old design either.
Hi @Creatiive,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Just to confirm, is this happening with other private playlists you have or only with this specific one?
Additionally, would you mind checking if the issue persists with a private playlist with less songs (max.15)?
Lastly, sending us a screen recording of the issue happening would come in handy.
Keep us posted 🙂
Hey @Eni,
I created another playlist, added a few songs and made the playlist private, but the problem does not exist there. As I said, I would have been surprised if that was the cause. So at least making the playlist prviat is not the cause. Maybe it's the many songs in the other playlist where the problem exists, but why would the number of songs cause a playlist to play the wrong way around? It must be something else.
I created a short video: (I always went to the end of the selected song so that the next one would play shortly after.)

The first playlists works without problems. The second playlist has the aforementioned problem and the third playlist is the one I created for testing, where there is also no problem.
It's just strange.

Hey @Mihail,
The playlist currently contains 7,856 songs. However, I have now moved all the songs to a new playlist and now the problem no longer exists. As suspected, it is not due to the number of songs. Who knows what the problem was. A strange phenomenon. This has solved the problem for me.
Hi @Creatiive,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
We're glad to hear that you're no longer experiencing this issue.
