Songs won't play on desktop app, and web player says something went wrong

Songs won't play on desktop app, and web player says something went wrong

After logging into the web player I get a permanent "something went wrong." I'm on the right version of Chrome and have restarted it and my computer. My desktop app is the same, loading recent activity but not playing anything or letting me access my profile. It is a fresh install, but I cleared the cache anyway. My Android app works fine. I am on a premium family plan.

First up, we'd recommend clearing up your hosts file by following these steps. 

 

If this doesn't do the trick, could you give a different internet connection a go to see if that makes the difference?

 

Additionally, we suggest that you check your firewall and make sure Spotify is set as an exception.
