My Question or Issue

So when I start up Spotify and go to play my few songs in my main playlist it plays fine. Then sometime after the 4th song, I lose audio. The time bar at the bottom keeps going but the play pause, skip, shuffle buttons, all stop working and I can't play another song or even go to a different page in the Program. So I try and restart the program by closing it. Then when I go to reopen it says "the application is not responding". The only way for me to reopen Spotify is to go into my Task Manager and manually close the 3-4 instances of Spotify.exe. Not to mention that if I don't do this quick enough my entire computer will lock up and freeze, the only way to get out of this is for me to hold my power button to shut down my PC. This problem only happens with the Windows Store Version and the Desktop App version of Spotify, no problems on my phone or the Web player. After restarting my computer and trying to use Spotify again this problem takes a little longer to occur but still happens eventually, then after that as soon as I reopen Spotify and go to play music after a few songs its the same cycle all over again. 

As I am posting this I will be trying a fresh reinstall yet again looking extra hard for extra files that may be lingering. 

I really love Spotify and I am desperate for help because I want to keep using this program but if I cannot get the help I will have to unsubscribe and no longer use a program that I truly want to work.

That's really frustrating! I think a clean reinstall is a good idea - here are the steps in case you need them.

 

Could you also provide us with your Spotify app version once you've done that? You can find this in the three-dots menu (top-left corner) > Help > About Spotify.

 

If a clean reinstall doesn't work, then would you mind trying to listen on the app using another account and seeing if that changes things?
