Hello.
My Spotify on desktop (windows 11) is not working properly. I cannot seem to use the canvas function on my laptop. I've checked the settings and the canvas option is there, however it is greyed out and I cannot toggle it on or off. What is weird is that, this is only happening on one of my profiles on my laptop. On my other profile, everything seems to be working fine, which is very odd. I've tried deleting and reinstalling to no avail unfortunately. Music videos are working fine, it's just the canvas setting that is greyed out in my settings.
I would appreciate it if there is a solution to this issue, or even a step by step guide on how to cleanly uninstall spotify and redownload it?
Thanks!
Hi there @ishishk! Thanks for posting in the Community! 🌟
In this case, I'd like to suggest a clean reinstall as this is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble on your device. You can do that by following these steps.
Keep me posted on how this goes!

Hello! I am having the same issue and I have reinstalled with the recommended steps, ran desktop cleaners, cleared my cache, and made sure I had no power saving settings enabled on my laptop and it still does not let me enable nor disable the setting. I am out of ideas.
Hey @mylesluhtwizz,
Welcome to the thread and thanks for letting us know what troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
Are you by any chance using a VPN on your desktop? If that's the case then I recommend disabling it to see if it changes anything as it can cause different performance issues with Spotify. On another note, if you're travelling keep in mind that Canvas is not yet rolled out everywhere, so this is another possible reason why you can't enable/disable it.
Lastly, let us know when this started happening for the first time (if it was after a specific event) and if the same behavior persists on another device.
We'll be on the lookout 🙂
I wish I could help, but unfortunately for me the same thing happened. I've been doing research on this because I've found no solution in the Spotify Community. Please, if you've found a way to solve this issue, I'd be delighted to know. I'll also let you know if I find a solution as well.
I found a solution!!! Here, check this out: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Canvas-not-loading-blank-in-desktop-version-now-pla...

J'ai reussi , si vous etes sur windows 11 comme moi vous avez peut etre simplement supprimé les effets d'animation dans les parametres windows , il faut juste les remettre pour ravoir les canvas
