Spotify Desktop App - Very Slow Launch / Black Screen Issue

Hi Spotify Support Team,

I'm experiencing a persistent issue with the Spotify desktop app on my computer and would appreciate your help.

When I launch the app, it takes a very long time to load. It displays a completely black screen for a long time—frequently over 15 seconds, and sometimes even more than 30 seconds. After the black screen disappears, it takes several additional seconds for the rest of the UI elements to fully load.

Please note that when I log in using the Spotify Web Player on the same computer, everything loads quickly without any delay.

Here are the troubleshooting steps I have already tried without success:

• Reinstalled the Spotify app.

• Cleared the app cache and downloaded files.

• Toggled Hardware Acceleration on and off.

• Tried various other settings and fixes recommended online.

Despite these attempts, the issue remains unchanged. Could you please advise on how to resolve this or assist me in fixing it?

Just to check, do you notice any difference if you install the app from another source? For example - if you're currently using the Microsoft Store version, you can try downloading the app directly from Spotify. You can find more info on this page.

We can also recommend checking with another internet connection (if possible) to see if the behavior persists. And if you're using any VPN, make sure to switch it off as it could interfere with the service.
