Spotify Friend Activity Randomly Disappears

Hey all,

I saw that someone on my friend's activity randomly disappeared. I looked around and found someone on Reddit saying that they will disappear if they haven't listened to Spotify actively. Is this true?

I've been actively listening every day for the last week and mine disappeared today when I opened it.  I don't think it has anything to do with how frequently you use it.
