Spotify Windows PC app, adjusts overall PC volume settings when minimized

Spotify Windows PC app, adjusts overall PC volume settings when minimized

Whenever my Spotify desktop app is minimized or not longer in focus, it reduces the volume for everything on my PC.

For example if normally, my volume mixer is set to 100%. When spotify is in focus it's reduced to 65%
The inverse is also true and if I set my overall volume lower, when Spotify is in focus, all apps become louder.

I have tried playing around in the Windows sound settings/Spotify in-app settings, but can't seem to find out how to prevent this from happening.

Anyone have any workarounds or solutions?

Hey there,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

That's an odd behavior. So just to be on the same page, have you already performed a clean reinstall of the app? This process will replace all damaged files and ensure you're running the latest version of the app.

If the issue persists, include in your next response the OS version of your PC, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.
