Spotify Windows app is thrash and regularly stops functioning.

Spotify Windows app is thrash and regularly stops functioning.

Premium plan, windows 10, non-store app.

At what seems to be weekly frequency when i start up spotify it greets me with all songs greyed out. Liked songs, playlists, random lists in the home page, searched songs, everything. When i click on them spotify says "This content is not available". When i click on green play button it says "Please turn off offline mode and try again.". Im not offline, nor in offline mode (i know what that is). My friends list, all playlists, artist page or anything i click at loads so clearly app can reach spotify servers. It just doesnt let me play anything.

What ive tried every time this happens with varying success :

  • Quitting spotify and starting it again
  • Logging off and on again
  • Rebooting
  • Updating spotify by going to web page and downloading installer
  • Removing spotify, deleting every spotify folder in appdata, installing it again.

Last step rarely solves the problem. Rarely. Usually i just gotta wait a  day or two until it goes away. Why am i paying for this app if its gonna give me a poorer experience than youtube.

Hey there @berkozersensoy,

Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear that you're having so many issues with the Spotify app on your PC.

Can you try installing the version available on the MS store? It is more optimized and works better on certain confugurations.

Let us know if that helps.
