My Question or Issue

Pretty much, already written this 3 times... Let's go. Whenever I have the spotify app on PC in the "online" mode it lags up really bad. It can sometimes take up to 3 minutes just to pause, it shows the wrong song, wont skip or play, etc etc... If any more info is needed, tell me and I'll give it to you. Thanksssss!

BTW, this only happens on my PC. My phone works just fine with the current version, tried some older ones too and those are alright too.

THIS is SO RANDOM, but I played a game, a beta of "The Crew 2" yesterday, took some sweet screenshots etc. Then today I made one into an wallpaper as I often do, but To use that I had to turn off WallpaperEngine as I usually use that, and then I noticed Spotify ran really fast. Didn't take long before I noticed it was because of WallpaperEngine as I turned it on again and Spotify got laggy.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about or cares, you can pause a scene in WallpaperEngine so that it doesn't take any CPU/GPU power, it's just there lika a wallpaper then (still) but havving it like that still caused Spotify to lag up.

Thanks for everyones help and tries!

About 20 minutes have passed and now I'm running WallpaperEngine again, and it's working fine with Spotify now... I'll have to further investigate...

Hi,

Maybe you have but I would recommend to reinstall it. Also try to use the Windows Store version of it.

Here I found an article that might help.

Have a nice day 🙂

I've tried almost all of those old "fixes" and none have worked really, tried the "normal" and the Windows Store version too and both do the same thing. Have also installed an old version of Spotify before and then it worked fine but you know... It was really old like from 2014 somethin. I've had this problem for about a year now and I usually fix stuff myself but now I've given up and just want this to get fixed 🙂

So no a reinstall won't do it, not even if uninstalling, removing ALL files and restarting the computer then to install it again. Same old problem.

Yeah I know. Old versions don’t work well because Spotify can’t continue to support them.

You have tried to uninstall it but I would recommend to use an app for that. Download IObit Unistaller and delete the leftovers as well. Clean the temp files folder under AppData>Local.

Try to delete the Spotify folder inside Packages, which is as well inside AppData>Local.

Done that, been there 😞

On several different versions.

Have you tried it in a new account in Windows?

Hi! You should probably reinstall Spotify and then see how it works. If that still doesn’t work, then check to see if anything is wrong with your computer or your WiFi.

Maybe try making a new account?

Dude, he has already tried that

About the new account, what account are you talking about?

Spotify or new Windows user?

##- New Spotify account

Glad you figured it out. Next time just look what apps are you running at the time that may cause such issues. Still it was an interesting solution.

Crew 2 is a huge game! It’s really great. I haven’t played The Crew though but they both seem awesome. I guess you have a beast PC to play it.
