Spotify desktop app randomly freezing and not responding

My Question or Issue

Spotify desktop app often freezes on my PC. While frozen, it will be in a not responding mode, but it will continue to play music, it will just have a non responsive interface meaning you can't do anything, you need to use task manager to kill it and restart it. I found that the most common trigger for it (even though it can be anything) is using the search bar. It works just fine on Android (Samsung A71).

You can start off by running a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your PC to make sure you get the latest app version with all necessary updates. Check out this help page on how to do that. 

If this persists after the clean reinstall, check if your hosts file contains entries that need to be removed. Follow these steps on how you can do this.
