My Question or Issue
Spotify appears on the laptop screen for a split second--the 3 dots can be seen on the upper left for a moment--and then immediately disappears from the screen completely, as if I had shut down the Spotify window. Have tried restarting Spotify several times, and have also tried restarting the computer. My online Spotify page, however, is fully populated and apparently without any problems

The Miracle of Spotify
Suddenly Spotify came back, as if nothing had ever happened. I didn't reinstall or try any fix. The lists and graphics are as they were before. The music plays as it did before. I hope it stays this way. Thanks to all of you who responded to my initial posting of the disappearance
Hi there @abf317
Thanks for reaching out. Do you face any such issues on other devices? When did this start occuring? Consider performing a clean reinstall, that can resolve a multitude of issues. Also if you have any VPNs or Proxy servers active, disable those and see if it works.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for answering. Joan. No, I don't recall this malfunction ever happening with any other application or device. It started occurring the day before I posted the above message on this forum. And I don't have any VPN's or proxy servers. I do have AVG's virus shield and the Windows firewall but up to now Spotify has been working fine with them. And AVG always let's you know if it's blocking something. I've been thinking of re-installing, but have avoided it because I read somewhere on this forum that if you re-install you lose all downloads. But I've been using the free version and I think that with this version you don't get any actual downloads. But even if I do get downloads and would lose them, I'll try the re-install if no other solution is suggested.
Hi there @abf317,
Thanks for the reply.
Downloading songs for offline listening is only available if you have a Premium Spotify account. If you don't, there are no Downloads that will be deleted from your app, so this shouldn't worry you.
It's a good idea to do a clean reinstall of the app, as sometimes app files get corrupted or deleted and this causes issues with the program itself.
If after the reinstall the issue still occurs, you can try turning off the AVG shield and the firewall to test if the Spotify app manages to launch properly at all, and then turn them back on.
Keep us posted on how you get on.
