Spotify icon not showing on desktop

Hello,

recently I have a reaccuring issue that I can't seem to solve. The spotify icon on my desktop keeps turning into a white blank page. I tried many different things, just throwing it into the trash and placing it on my desktop again, reinstallling and even trying to change the icon manually but there is no way to add that since windows only accepts a set of icons. 

There was a post made about this before and it said to right-click on the icon and go to the file location. However, this is not possible with windows 11. I cannot find the file location. If I follow the path that the app says it's in it somehow doesn't exist and I only seem to find it in my general settings.

I hope someone can help me with this issue.

Welcome to the Community.

I guess in this case the icon cache might be corrupted. So please try the following:

1. Press Win + R → type cmd → Right-click > Run as administrator

2. Enter the following commands one by one:

cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorerdel iconcache*taskkill /IM explorer.exe /Fstart explorer.exe

This should rebuild the icon cache.

Also, you can install the standalone Spotify client (not Microsoft Store version). Just uninstall Spotify, download the classic version from the Spotify website and iInstall that version instead of the Microsoft Store one.
