Spotify keeps installing!

Every time I start up Spotify, I get the main screen, which shuts off and then it says it's 'installing Spotify'. It only takes tiime and annoys the living daylights out of me! Can this be solved?

Try this, worked for me

Unhide files & folders in Folder options, go to your system drive

C:\Users\Your User name\AppData\Roaming\Spotify

Right click on spotify Icon/ .exe & create shortcut, copy or drag to your desktop

Click it and if it goes straight to spotify, delete the original spotify shortcut on your desktop & use the one you created.

This problem has been around for 5 years more or less. I find it amazing that Spotify can't fix it for Windows, the most used OS on the planet! 

Come on guys, there HAS to be a cure for this.

Actually... the desktop icon is likely the Installation shortcut and needs to be deleted.  I found that the second icon, the one that is is the START Button fly-up list works without having the "Installing Spotify ..." message come up.  So I dragged this icon onto the desktop and all is good.

This doesn't work. I have completely uninstalled and resinstalled several times. Still no go. Very frustrating.
