Spotify not linking to Clock App on windows desktop

Spotify not linking to Clock App on windows desktop

Hey all,
My spotify app on my windows desktop isn't linking to my clock app. This is an app i use where in my focus sesssions, the app auto plays my music and stops when time is up. It previously was working and linked fine until i had to reset my password, now when i click "link spotify" on the app, a window pops up and does nothing.

Ive been on support for hours trying to get this fixed. Microsoft & windows support have done everything on their end. Windows support has said it is a spotify issue. I've completely uninstalled all apps and reinstalled them. Reset my spotify password again.

Spotify support told me to check my Managed Apps - it says here that I haven't approved any applications. So support put me through to here.

Hello everyone,

I have the same problem, anyone knows if there is something new about it ?

Thanks.

Hey @MusicListener33

No update yet! If you would like to help progress a solution, you can add some feedback here. I recommend attaching a screenshot of the message you get when you try to link Spotify to the Clock app.

Hey all! Spotify support has officially confirmed this is a Windows issue.

"We've checked around and it looks like this is a known limitation on Windows' side at the moment due to an expired certificate such that the oATH header being sent to the Spotify API is no longer valid. Please reach out directly to Microsoft Support for more detailed and info on any possible updates about the focus assist clock integration."

Don't forget to upvote and add feedback to this post in the Windows Feedback Hub to alert Microsoft of the problem.

Hey everyone!

Someone posted on the Feedback Hub today that this issue has been fixed with Clock version 11.2.2302.5.0. I never had this issue, so I cannot confirm if it has been fixed. Can anyone else verify this?

You can see the post on the Feedback Hub here.

Hey, it's me again!

I'm seeing more reports on the Feedback Hub of this being fixed. I have no way to verify this myself (as it was never broken for me,) so I will assume that it has been fixed.

Please check for app updates in the Microsoft Store. The newest version of Clock is 11.2302.5.0.

@Vathix, since you are the post author, could you please mark this post as the solution, if it is working for you? This way, others will be able to quickly find the answer. Thanks.
