When I click play on my playlist, it just jumps around to different tracks, but doesn't play anything at all. The timer doesn't move from 0:00 at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify. I have tried to play with Shuffle both on and off. Please help!
*Edit* While waiting for help, I tried a couple of things. After uninstalling/reinstalling, I tried unchecking "Enable Hardware Acceleration" in Preferences settings. Issue persists.
Then, I unchecked all boxes under "Local Files" section in Preferences. Issue persists.
I also tried closing Spotify, renaming "Storage" folder to "StorageBackup" and moved it out to desktop. (File accessed in Windows C:/Users/Username/AppData/Spotify) Then I restarted Spotify and issue persists.
For a split second, after skipping to the next track, the blue notification bar appears at the top of Spotify and says "Can't play the current track"
I filled out a contact form, but no luck yet getting a response. I am kind of surprised that there isn't phone support. I pay for this monthly and I feel like there should be a number I can call. Oh well, maybe someone will help me eventually. 😞
**Edit** Well, I restarted my computer, and everything worked fine. Hope it doesn't happen again, but if you are experiencing the same issues, try simply restarting the computer. 🙂
This never happened before, and I seemingly have bad luck this morning.
At first, I changed Spotify to play from my Chromecast to my computer ( I don't know if this compounded the problem) which caused it to go haywire.
Then when I plugged in my USB Headset, it started jumping around, just like your problem! Could it be that it's getting some interferance via USB ports? I dunno...
I'm still having the same problem.. I've re-installend and restarted several times...
same issue..
Does anyone have another solution? I only have this problem on one laptop, not on my smartphone or other devices. And previously it worked perfectly...
Same here, deleted the cache, uncheck the local files options, Hardware Acceleration etc...the issue is still there..., but when i play Spotify on my Echo Dot from Amazon, it is working normal, and i can control the Echo Dot with the Spotify Desktop App, until i switch back to the Computer Sound System, then the issue starts again. Maybe there is a Problem with Spotify Connect...
EDIT: After several Restarts it works again. However, it seems to be a Problem, when you switch the Devices in you Desktop App. In my case, the Echo Dot works fine, but when I switch back to my Computer, the issue starts again and i have to restart. Before you restart, be sure to check your computer is the primary device for playing music. That is my temporary Solution at the moment. Hope that Spotify will fix this asap...
Hey there,
Got exactly the same problem. Works fine from my android cell phone, but can't play anything from the P.C... Tried all the stuffe you've mentionned (reinstall, delete cache) but nothing deals with this issue.
Have you had some news from the spotify support ?
Kind regards
4 or 5 years ago I took advantage the spotify Premium offer of three months for the price of one and it was brilliant!....... for a while.
Then, bit by bit any song that I had on my own library (record, tape, CD, paid for download) stopped playing on my carefully chosen play lists!!!!!!
After countless emails on the subject going unanswered I cancelled the (by then £10/month, for probably 2 years).
Nine months or so ago my daughters persuaded me to go for Premium again (at £10/ month ultimately) which I reluctantly did but was very pleaed to see that my 5 year old playlists were fully operational!
Well, you can guess what I'm about to say.....
The same failingings with your system have occurred agian - I have done nothing to my computer set up so
PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
It is outrageous that you take the money and don't take account of apple or microsoft or whoever else's changes.
Thanks in advance,
