My question or issue

For the past few weeks my desktop Spotify app has not been able to connect to the app on my phone. I thought it was a Wi-Fi or connection related problem but turns out it isn´t because I can connect the web player with my phone just fine! Everything is updated, both the OS of my phone and PC as well as the Spotify app on all devices.

Any help?

Hey @Faza!

Thanks for posting in the Community!

As there are two versions of the desktop app, one from our website and one from the Microsoft App Store (optimized for Windows), we'd suggest trying to install the version you currently don't have on your machine.
You can follow the steps from here 🙂

Let us know how it goes!

I tried downloading the Microsoft Store version and nothing, same problem.

Hey @Faza,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you try switching internet connections, e.g. with a hot spot from your phone? A router reset may also help here. Does the issue occur with other mobile devices or external speakers and your desktop PC?

Also try switching accounts to exclude any account related issues.

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!

I was about to do it but I noticed the problem fixed itself! It could be an OS error from my pc since i just updated to Windows 11 so that could have been it.
