For the past few weeks my desktop Spotify app has not been able to connect to the app on my phone. I thought it was a Wi-Fi or connection related problem but turns out it isn´t because I can connect the web player with my phone just fine! Everything is updated, both the OS of my phone and PC as well as the Spotify app on all devices.
As there are two versions of the desktop app, one from our website and one from the Microsoft App Store (optimized for Windows), we'd suggest trying to install the version you currently don't have on your machine. You can follow the steps from here🙂
