Spotify shows a black screen after unlocking

Solved!

Spotify shows a black screen after unlocking

Plan

Premium

Country

Germany

Device

Lenovo Notebook

Operating System

Windows 10

My Question or Issue

Prerequisite:

Spotify gets started on startup of Windows 10 and stays minimized and you lock your screen without bringing Spotify to the foreground at least once. And maybe having 3 virtual desktops on Windows 10

Issue:

After unlocking the screen and opening Spotify, it only shows a black screen but I can interact with it, most of the time. I can close it by pressing approximately where the close button should be, but if I want to restart it after, I have to go into the task manager and end the Spotify task once so I can restart it again

Hey AlejaR,

After removing the virtual desktops and restarting once or twice and locking the screen after startup to see if the bug still remains, it is now gone, even with three virtual desktops. The app starts automatically but it stays minimised.

I also just updated to version: "Spotify for Windows 1.1.97.962.g24733a46"

Hey @70X1C,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd like to gather some additional details. Just to confirm, is the same thing happening when they're not using multiple virtual desktops? If not sure, it'd be awesome if you could check.

On another note, did you restrict the app to not start automatically on startup?

Lastly, can you share with us the exact Spotify version you have running on your computer?

Keep us in the loop!
