My Question or Issue

When i launch the program and start a song right away, it will start playing for 2-3 seconds and then i get a loop and second 2-3 are played again, but the song will not start  completely from the beginning, then it plays normally and so do all songs afterwards.

except if i choose another playlist for example and start another song manually, then it will happen again.

but also not always, sometimes it works sometimes not.

never seen this problem before, until i updated the porgram today.

is this a known issue? i couldnt find anything.

thanks

Today every song I have tried played without problems. Didn't do anything else than restarting the computer... Maybe thats the trick? 😉

Same here. I hope they fix it.

It needs patch for this. I don't think there is any kind of solution with delete some files.

Hey there,
I just came back from school so my dearest apologies for the late response but as of now the web player and mobile versions don't experience this issue. But what from what I can see, the windows 10 from the Microsoft store and the version that I downloaded from the website. About my version of spotify my version is 1.1.81.604gccacfc8c. And yes I downloaded the app from your website but it seems to happen to the Microsoft store version too. Many thanks for responding!!!

Look I'm facing the same error 🥲

I'm facing the same problem 🥲

same problem here bro

This happens to me as well on most songs about 5s in. It is really irritating and I hope devs get on fixing this.

Done the steps mentioned, but still the same issue. Still loops.

I get the same problem in the Microsoft Store version, but the stuttering is a little shorter than the Desktop version maybe by 1 to 2 seconds.

same problem in windows app downloaded from Microsoft store

I had the same issue, I had downloaded Spotify from the website, I uninstalled Spotify and downloaded it from the ms store, I have been listening to Spotify for over 2 hours now and I have not come across the bug once since the redownload, I would recommend you guys to try the same.

Every song on Spotify, in a playlist, in Liked Songs or neither is affected. The first playthrough of a song seems fine though I've noticed the longer I loop one song, the worse the skipping gets. I tried restarting my PC (not on purpose though, it crashed lol), still no change.

Ah yeah I'm experiencing the same error as well. It's not strictly at 5 seconds though, although I've noticed it never occurs beyond 12 seconds. Weird. OS is Windows 10 and Plan is Free.

I installed Spotify from the official Spotify website. [https://www.spotify.com/us/download/windows/]

I tried your solution. Playing a few songs initially didnt seem to reproduce the issue. Until...I play around with the "back button" to replay a song and to replay previous songs. Now I'm facing the same issue again even after downloading the MS Store's Spotify.

Hi there folks,

Thank you for your replies and confirmations.

Can you let us know if this occurs on a specific playlist/song or all of your playlists/songs?

It would also be great if you can ty with a different internet connection to see if the issue persists?

We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

Take care!

Hey Jeremy,

I Tried everything you said, but it didn't fix anything. It still happens at the exact same time stamp. Tried on multiple songs too of various different playlists.

Can you let us know if this occurs within a specific playlist/song or if it's general?

We also suggest that you try a different internet connection to see if the issue persists.

On another note, can you check if you have any pending OS update?

If it's possible we also recommend that you have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member to see if the issue persist. This will help us understand if it's account related or not.
