This song is not availabe. If you have the file on your computer you can import it error!

This song is not availabe. If you have the file on your computer you can import it error!

I used to be able to play many songs on my friends' playlist without any issues, but now, I can only play like 10 songs from the 202 songs in the playlist. Whenever I click on a song, they give me the message "This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it." I am running windows 10 and my spotify is the one you get from the microsoft store. Also, this issue is just on my pc, since on my iPhone every song works. Thanks, have a good day.

Hey @D3shly! Welcome to the Spotify Community. ^^

That's odd.

Have you tried reinstalling your app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.

Let me know how it goes! ^^

Peace

Yes, multiple times. However with no results.

@D3shly

Could you try to listen to the playlist with a different device?

And could it be possible that these songs are local files of your friend?

Peace

My friend's songs are public songs, like God's Plan, all of xxxtentacion's 17 album, etc...

I tried playing the songs from my iPhone but to my PC (I pick the song from the iPhone but it plays on the PC) and it still didn't work.

Also, the song everywhere is not accessible, like when I go to Drake's album and click on any song, they give me the same error, and when I play the same song from another playlist it doesn't work either. So it's not from the playlist itself.

@D3shly

Could you please let me know the following details:

1. Exact Device  (e.g. MacBook Air)

2. Exact operating system  (e.g. Windows )

3. Spotify app version installed (1.0.2)

Thanks! ^^

Peace

1. Alienware 17 Laptop 64-bit

2. Windows 10 Home

3. 1.0.75.485.g1f74de2c (Windows Store version)

I think I have just found it out, all the songs with Explicit tag on them don't work, and all of the ones without them work.

@D3shly

Could you try to reinstall your app and use this time this version from Spotify.com ?

Let me know how it goes! ^^

Peace

I think I've found it out, all the songs with the "Explicit" tag on them don't work, and the ones without the tag work. However, my birth year is '88, so I am well over 18 to be able to listen to Explicit songs... On my iPhone, the setting "Allow Explicit Content" is turned on, but I can't seem to find the setting on my desktop version of spotify.

I've found out the problem in my previous reply, can you check it out please?

@D3shly

Hmm, that sounds weird.

The explicit content filter should only affect phone apps.

Have you tried to install the version that I've posted above?

Peace

I have just uninstalled Spotify the windows 10 version and got the original one you get from your browser and it worked. Thank you so much for helping me!

Yo, a bit strange, it got fixed for like an hour then it's back with the same issues, explicit songs won't seem to work, but ones without explicit work absolutely fine. It happened again...

@D3shly

I've escalated your issue to the support.

I will reply on this thread with help soon. ^^

Peace

Alright, thank you so much.

@D3shly

Could you try to use a different Spotify account on your desktop to see if it happens there too?

Thanks! ^^

Peace
