This song is not available. if you have the file on your computer you can import it

Earlier today I tried to play a song, and the blue notifcation is starting This song is not available. if you have the file on your computer you can import it. It worked fine yesterday. I reinstalled spotify to no avail.

Im on windows 10, and I have a free account.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Try to follow the steps below.

 

  • Click Edit (PC) or Spotify (Mac).
  • Select Preferences.
  • Scroll down to Local Files.
  • Deselect all sources.
  • Close, and restart the app.
  • Select all local file sources once again.

When I tried it he sayed "Song not availble" everytime when i clicked on the song. What I did whas connecting my PC to my phone and then he began downoading the song!!!!!!!

Do you want to import a local file to spotify or do you want to solve the problem with the song error?

I would like to solve the song error.

Try to go to 

Edit > Preferences > Local Files and uncheck everything

This method worked for about a day, but now it no longer does. Please help.

J'ai le même problème : depuis aujourd'hu_i je n'arrive plus à lire de nouveaux titres sur mon PC. J'ai toujours le même message : cette chanson n'es ptas disponible. Si vous possédez le fichier... Alors qu'hier tout fonctionnait bien. Par contrre ces titres sont bien disponibles sur mon iphone. Je n'y comprends rien. Besoin d'aide, merci !!

I'm in France.  Il try to write in english... I have this message for today: "This song is not available If you have the file on your computer you can import it." ..... I can no longer read new titles. I can include them in a playlist but impossible to read.

No, but i solved the issue. just needed to restart my computer.

Hello. I´m premium user and I have the exact same problem for second day. I tried everything what I can, but nothing helps. I can´t play any new songs, only old, downloaded.
Can you help us please?

Yes I did. This is not working for me. 😞

Have you also tried these steps below:

 

 

  • Shutdown your PC and then restart it in Safe Mode (hit the F8 key repeatedly during the boot up process then select Safe Mode from the menu that appears)
  • Once launched in Safe Mode, go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features
  • Find Spotify and uninstall it
  • Shutdown your PC and boot it back up as usual
  • Go to the Spotify website, download the installer and reinstall.

 

I did this too and now I can´t play my songs (downloaded) too. The problem is still the same. 😞
