My Question or Issue
I've reinstalled Spotify and rebooted 3x to no avail. Here's what's happening...
Please help? This is a new issue.
Resolved through trial & error w/Spotify tech support. Turns out Cisco AnyConnect VPN suddenly decided to derail the login. Quitting AnyConnect and starting Spotify worked -- AnyConnect immediately reasserted itself, but by then Spotify was already open. 😛 to Cisco.

I have the same problem but I don't use a VPN service. The problem appeared first after the installation of the following Windows updates: KB5001716, KB5038285 and KB5037768. I already tried to restart my router, reinstalled Spotify several times, resetted Spotify, started Spotify without hardware acceleration and added rules for internet connection in the Windows firewall. I don't want to uninstall the Windows updates due to security reasons. Maybe someone knows how this could be fixed.
Hi @x43on,
Thanks for reaching out. If you haven't done a full clean reinstall as shown here, please do so. Also consider trying to install both the version of the app from our website and from the Windows store. There are subtle differences between them, so if one version doesn't work, maybe the other will.
Hope this helps.
I tried the full clean reinstall and the app version from the website and also from Windows store. Unfortunately none of your suggestions helped.
Hey @x43on,
Thanks for getting back to us!
Before being able to suggest a next step to try we'd like to ask you if you're experiencing the same sequence of events like the original poster of the thread? Do you also get stuck in a forwarding loop from the app to the browser? Could you let us know which version of Spotify you currently have installed - the version number and whether its the Windows store version or the downloaded one from our website.
Also it would be of big help if you can send us a screen recording of how things look on your end, you can attach the recording to your next response here in the Community. If the file size is too big to be attached here, you can add it to Google Drive and send us a link to it so we can view it there.
We'll be on the lookout!
This time the following procedure solved the problem:
Installed version is 1.2.38.720, downloaded from the website.
After clicking the "log in" button in the app the spotify login page opened in my browser.
After login the authentication process via the spotify website worked.
The spotify app connected successfully and a pop up from the Windows firewall appeared were I permitted connections for the spotify app.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
