Web Player Sound Quality Bad/Terrible

Web Player Sound Quality Bad/Terrible

I'm listening to Spotify for the Web in Chrome on my Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 10, and the sound quality is terrible - almost like I'm listening to a recording from a flip phone from 2002.

 

This problem exists specifically for my JBL Tune 770NC headphones. The quality sounds fine on my Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro. What could be causing this problem?

Thanks for reaching out. We'll gladly help you get things sounding as they should again.

 

We appreciate the provided info, so now let's try and narrow down what the possible root cause of this can be. Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on that Lenovo laptop? Is only the web player affected or does the Desktop app behave the same too?
  • When did this start happening? Did it work properly before?
  • Does this happen only with the JBL Headphones, also with the built in speakers or both? Does it happen with wired headphones?
  • Does this happen on different networks? If you haven't tested this, please do so.
  • If possible, please make a video of the sound quality so we can get a better idea of what exactly is going on. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.
