My Question or Issue

For the past two months, my Spotify has not been working at all. When I load up the app, my "Liked Songs" and all of my playlists take a really long time to load. When I click on them it's just a black screen and when they eventually do play music. All songs stop at the 6-second mark and I get the message "Can't play the current song" then it skips to the next song and then repeats the issue. I cant add any songs to playlists. My liked songs and playlists do not sync to my mobile device either. I'm using the same account on both and my desktop has all the songs but doesn't work while my mobile app works but anything I add to my desktop does not get added to my mobile device. I can't even link my phone to Spotify anymore, it's just a constant connecting message. I have logged out on all devices, deleted the app multiple times on windows and my mobile device, cleared the cache, and the app data, and when I reinstall the app on windows. It works perfectly UNTIL I click on a playlist and play a song and then all the problems repeat. The Spotify web player doesn't work either, it either refuses to load or the Spotify website itself won't load and I get the message "The website cannot be reached". I'm running on good internet while on ethernet. Other websites and apps work, it's just everything Spotify refuses to work. It's so bad that I'm thinking about switching to apple music after being with Spotify for years. I'm paying for a premium when the app doesn't work at all. Does anyone have this issue or know how to fix it?

Hey @Jalen2454,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community.

You've done some detailed troubleshooting, that's a great start. Just one thing - when you say you reinstalled the, did you use this guide? It's more thorough and makes sure no leftover files remain.

If that's the case, we recommend that you also check your host file for Spotify entries and remove any you may find. Even though it was written for another topic, this page has instructions on how to do this.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on how it goes.
