Why is my Spotify so slow ?

Solved!

Why is my Spotify so slow ?

Hey everyone !

Since the last 2or 3 updates, my Spotify is running so slow, it feels like I'm using a very old PC with like 1 MB of RAM 😅

Every other program on my PC is working just fine, but opening a playlist, navigating through them, switching back to the main window, everything takes forever ... well, not forever, but really longer than usual, as if I was using a very badly optimized program.

I'm still on Windows 10, I don't know if this could be the issue 🤔

Any of you have the same problem ?

Hi there @Grazzt,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to help you get the app working properly once again.

To start off, consider performing a clean reinstall if you haven't already. It's possible there's some damaged cache or something similar causing the issue and this will resolve that.

If the issue persists, let's try and narrow down what the possible root cause could be. Consider trying the following:

  • Does this only happen on your Windows PC or other devices too? What about the web player
  • Could you try logging in with a different account on the Windows PC to see if the same happens? You can use the account of someone you know or make one yourself.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello Joan, and thanks for reaching out to me !

I did uninstall Spotify to see if it would go better, but not with a "clean reinstall" like you mentioned, I'll try that and let you know.

And  to answer one of your questions, it only happens with the Spotify Windows PC program, the web player works just fine and is very responsive, just like my Spotify program used to.

I'll reply back after the clean reinstall to let you know how it went, thanks !

Back 😁

Well, the clean reinstall worked like a charm, there probably was some damaged cache or something like you said, I had previously done a "normal" reinstall and it didn't work, but this time I'm back with my fast & responsive Spotify, thanks a lot !!
