Why was the playlist manual ordering feature removed?!

Today 2023-03-24 I woke up to my spotify meticulously 300+ ordered playlists completely changed.

The only ordering options offered are:
Recent (the playlists you played recently)
Recently Added
Alphabetical
Creator

All these options are utterly useless to me since I sort my playlist by genre and listening contexts!
And to make it worse it seem we CANNOT order them manually anymore 😞

This completely screwed up my setup.
Its beyond me how a unilateral change like that could be pushed without offering a way to keep the order I worked on setting up over the last 5 years.

Seriously hoping somebody will show me a way we can get the manual playlist ordering back...

Thanks for reaching out and welcome aboard to the Community! This option should still exist. Can you confirm that you're trying this on a playlist you have created? Make sure you're also logged into the correct account. If all of that checks out, try performing a clean reinstall. That can help resolve a multitude of issues. If that doesn't help, send us some screenshots and we'll take a look.

It sounds like you are seeing a change that Spotify is currently testing in the desktop app.

Here's how to get it as close as possible to the old sidebar:

In the left "Your Library" sidebar, click on the "Playlists" filter.

Then, in the sort drop down select "Custom order". You will then see your previous playlist order and be able to reorganize your playlists (move playlists and folders like before)

Your current preference will be remembered each time you start up the Spotify desktop app.

If you would like to only see text in the Your Library sidebar, go to the Spotify app Settings ---> Library ---> and select "use compact library".

You can also drag the left sidebar to different sizes, as well as fully expand the sidebar by clicking the arrow button, and fully collapse the sidebar by clicking on the "Your Library" heading.

The album art experience in the bottom left corner is still being improved. Stay tuned for future improvements.
