Win 11 Problme

Win 11 Problme

Hello everyone. I"m using Win11 (All updates current).

For approx. At the beginning of the year, my PC crashes/freezes when I use the Spotify app/Exe, whether it"s the APP from the MS Store or the EXE from Spotify.
Reinstalling the APP or EXE did not help.
In the settings (hardware acceleration) it has already been activated and deactivated.

My computer otherwise runs very stable... Game Videos Editing-AI/AI Technical, 3D Printing, Astro Activities... so in summary, everything works at maximum performance, only with Spotify does my PC collapse.

Above the web/Broweser, Spotify works without any issues.

- I"ve already done:

- Reinstalled Source: MS-Store and Spotify EXE.

- Hardware acceleration enabled/disabled

- All updates of the PC up-to-date, whether bios or win updates.

Hallo an alle.

- Hardware Beschleunigung aktiviert/Deaktiviert

- Alle Update des PC aktuell ob Bios oder Win Updates.

Hey there @S3pp3l,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We understand you reinstall the app, but we'd like to check, have you performed a clean (more thorough) reinstall? If you haven't, you can follow these steps to do it. By doing that, you can make sure the stored cache is not leading to this behavior.

If the above doesn't do the trick, would you mind trying running the app in Safe Mode to rule out any issues with your default Windows settings and basic device drivers? Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Additionally, it'd be awesome if you could send us:

  • The exact Spotify version you're running.
  • Does this happen if you open a different account on your computer? You can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to open it on your device and check.
  • Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? Since you mentioned this started at the beginning of the year, it'd be really helpful if you could add more details.

Keep us in the loop!

Good day,

unfortunately, the entire troubleshooting process has taken a lot of time, and I have not been able to find a solution so far.

Spotify Version:
Spotify for Windows (64-bit)
Version: 1.2.86.502.g8cd7fb22

Steps I have already taken:

  • Uninstalled the app and EXE via Windows
  • Reinstalled Spotify
  • Completely removed Spotify using IObit Uninstaller (including all registry entries)
  • Tested in Safe Mode:
    • Spotify only works via the EXE
    • The app does not start
  • Updated drivers (graphics, audio, motherboard)
  • Checked Windows 11 for errors (CMD / system scan)
  • Tested RAM using MemTest and the Windows Memory Diagnostic

The issue still persists with both the app and the EXE.
However, Spotify works without any problems via the web player in the Mozilla browser.

Guten Tag,

Hey there @S3pp3l,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

As a next step, we recommend you clear your host files. You can follow the steps in this article to do it.

Additionally, we'd like the following info to continue narrowing down this behavior:

  • Does this happen if you open your account on a different device? You can ask for the computer of a relative or friend to open your account there and check.
  • Additionally, does this happen if you open a different account on your computer? You can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to check.
  • Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? It'd be really helpful if you could add more details about specific events at the beginning of the year that might lead to this behavior.

Keep us in the loop!

Hello everyone.
Since I simply couldn't find the error and all this troubleshooting was really taking up my time, I reinstalled the WIn11 operating system, which was just quicker and easier for me.

One thing is certain: Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.86.502.g8cd7fb22

no problem /at the moment. And it works again, i.e. it could only have been an error in my system and unfortunately I can't help you any further. I'm sorry.

Hallo an alle.

kein Problem macht /Im Moment. Tut mir leid.
