Win10 Desktop app unresponsive after using mobile player on Android

Win10 Desktop app unresponsive after using mobile player on Android

Brief description of the issue:

I use the Win10 desktop app in the morning. At lunch time I take android spotify with me when I'm out. When i return to my desktop spotify shows a green bar (spotify connect?) along the bottom which says i am listening on {MY DEVICE}. Having closed spotify app on my android device I try to toggle the green bar back to desktop to continue listening but the app is unresponsive/frozen. I close the desktop app and relaunch, but it will not relaunch until I open task manager and crash the (3 or more) spotify processes.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Listen on Desktop
  2. Listen on Android
  3. Return to Desktop, find it unresponsive

Just realized this was an old question. Sorry to resurect this.

 

Have you closed the app on your device; by that I mean, have you opened the recent apps feature and swiped it away? I have had the same issue before and I had to make sure that I had it completely shut off, in my phone before the computer would recognize it as free to connect.
