My Question or Issue
Desktop application will not play any songs, however the web browser and the mobile app work just fine.
Troubleshooting I have tried:
- Clearing the cache files
- Restarting my PC
- Navigating to C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage and deleting all files
- Uninstalling/reinstalling the application (weirdly enough, when I redownloaded the application, it only downloaded the 32bit one instead of the 64 bit)
I was able to download the app from the Microsoft store and this one worked, but Spotify seems to be having some serious issues with the executable that is coming from their website.
sighs I use the executable one, since the microsoft store gives me weird bugs like changing the themes of my buttons (literally, I posted it here) the executable has less bugs for me, but if microsoft store works for you, just pray or something so it will continue to work
having the same issue on Win 10 Spotify for Windows 1.2.8.923.g4f94bf0d been going on for a while now
Hey folks!
Have you tried changing the sample rate of your audio device anywhere between 44.1 and 192 kHz? You'll find a detailed guide on how to do that here.
Cheers!

My Question or Issue
I've problem with Spotify Desktop App. It constantly stuttering songs - situation looks like it could have problem with buffering current song - and from time to time throws notification "Can't play this right now".
This only happens on desktop app. On webplayer there is no problem.
I've tried to:
- Clean cache and song history
- Reinstall / full clean install - like this
- Checking / cleaning hosts file - like this
- Checking network connection and network related issues
- Turning off hardware accelartion
- Changing stream quality
- Resetting sound device settings and checking sound device drivers
- Checking Windows Defender & Firewall settings
Nothing helps.
I tried changing the sampling frequency. It didn't help.
Will Spotify have a solution to this problem soon, or should users just switch to another streaming provider such as Tidal?
Personally, I don't like paying for something that doesn't work...
Today I got this same issue... My app just stopped playing songs... Yesterday was fine... And this issue is happening in both my desktops, it only works in my android phone and webplayer...
Having the same issue. Desktop app not playing any songs but everything works fine on phone
Yeah. Nothing changed with this issue...
I thought that company with that huge amount of clients will have any tech support but i'm afraid there is no one hired in Spotify for solving tech problems.
Such a shame. After so many years of being loyal subsciber i've got to find new platform....
oh my gosh... now even the webplayer doesn't play any song. It was playing since morning and now, total silence... I tried to use another browser, the song starts, but after a minute or two, stops... wth is goin on Spotfy??????
hahahaha, well... it's working just fine now, guess they fix this issue... at least here, 100% ok...
