cant change playlist cover

i cant change the playlist cover/name of playlist

it doesn't come up with the edit pencil when i hover or click on the playlist cover nor does it come up with edit playlist when i click on the 3 dots

I've already looked at other threads with the same issues but I've already uninstalled it twice, looked in the %Appdata% folder to delete any Spotify folders, restarted my laptop, and reinstalled. it still wont show up 😕

my automatic updates are on, and after the most recent update the issue popped up. ive had the option to change the playlist cover/rename the playlist for years so im not sure why it would just go away ??

We're currently testing a new Desktop experience so it might explain why you're having troubles seeing this option for now.

Just to confirm, could you share a screenshot of how it looks for you when this happens? Just make sure that there's no private/sensitive info displayed when posting in the Community.

when i try to click on the icon it does not show up with any options

Hi there, it's so great you are testing new things for us! Testing is totally understandable, but removing features really doesn't give in my opinion the best experience especially when it's so popularly requested. I've upgraded to premium and this is my second account that I mainly keep for playlists at work. How long until you decide if changing covers for new accounts will or won't come back? I'd like to understand if it makes sense to keep this account up or not.

so i just opened up spotify today and the edit options have returned

im not really sure what changed but at least the option is back
