memory leak on windows 10

memory leak on windows 10

spotify version 1.0.92.390.g2ce5ec7d on windows 10 1803.

Since some time, I often experience memory leaks somehow caused by Spotify.  The scenario is usually that Spotify stops playing music, its main process starts utilizing one CPU core at 100%, its memory indication itself doesn't go up, but the memory consumption of the whole system steadily increases (see screenshot).

If left unchecked, the whole system gets out of memory, non-responsive and only a hard reset can get it back on its feet.  If I can kill the main process before this happens, the process first slowly frees the memory and quits after a while.

This happens so often that I literaly have to watch a system monitor while using Spotify, so I can kill the process before it freezes the system.  This is not a sustainable situation.

I tried to generate a minidump of the main process, but it only results in a file of zero bytes.  Please let me know how to further diagnose this, or better, how to fix this.
