My Question or Issue

whenever i have spotify as my main window, the cursor flickers in place and cannot be moved, i cannot play songs or touch any buttons on the computer until i alt tab out of spotify.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. 

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device from previous versions. In this case, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This is often an overlooked step, but it’s more thorough than a quick one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

 

If the issue persists, would you mind checking if changing the window size (full-screen/windowed) makes any difference?

Lastly, open your app settings and check the option "Enable hardware acceleration". If it's toggled on, turn it off (and vice versa) and restart your device to see if it makes any difference.
