no sound during playback

My Question or Issue

when i try playing tracks on windows, both on Spotify web player and the downloaded app, it shows the progress bar moving but will not play sound. after another trial, it shows me "error: cannot play the current song." i've tried looking at the output device, adjusting the mixer, and disconnecting any other devices that were logged into the same account, but to no avail. i've also tried logging out & restarting my computer. anything you could do to help me would be great! thank you, & have a great evening.

Here's a potential solution I found from browsing through other threads that you could look at. Now this has worked for people who have had issues in regard to playlist/song loss on the Spotify desktop app, hopefully this should help with the issue you're having:
